Blue Sky of Oregon

Late spring and early summer bring,
The lovely blue sky of Oregon.
Peach, almond, apple and pear,
Their fat blossoms spot her-the Oregon sky.

Sometimes she'll come a winter's guest.
She cheers them though she's chilly and short.
She is too blue, she blinds them white,
Their ground, their frozen branches.

"Come when the mustards grow," they say,
"When the yellow mustards grow at our feet."
(she's a welcome visitor then)
Their fat blossoms spot her,
The lovely blue sky of Oregon.
