January 1970

I return to Ashland and enroll in Southern Oregon State College. With the idea of becoming an elementary school art teacher. I meet an old friend, Larry Martin, who has been and returned from Vietnam. Having lived in a hospital in San Franciso for a year recuperating he is attending Southern Oregon State College on a G.I. bill and he shows me where my classrooms are. I take note of how cute he looks in his city clothes. We start serious dating. We take to the woods all spring and summer. I guess I want to be a mother and a wife. We marry December 1970 and January 1971 our first package comes. We stay married 20 years and have three kids together.
In 1979 my bestfriend and father dies. We buy a two story house on Siskiyou and Gresham with four bedrooms and a fenced in yard. My loving brother dies in 1984 and in 1985-1987 I return to college and study studio art, language and music theory.

Larry Martin comes from a pioneer family. An old family. I like old families. My paternal grandmother claimed 5 Mayflower ancestors. Two of whom are John Alden and his wife Priscilla Mullins. My mothers family also claims liniage to the John Adams'.
